Day One of the Review Meeting of the Life Skills Sub-Component of the Kwara State Adolescent Girls for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project was successfully held with the participation of key stakeholders, including representatives from the State Project Implementation Unit, Olive Community Development Initiative, the Association of Nigerian Conference of Principals of Public Schools, School-Based Management Committees, relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies, mentors across various Local Government Areas, and school principals. The meeting opened with the recitation of the National Anthem, followed by welcome remarks from the Project Director, who appreciated stakeholders for their commitment and encouraged active participation. The Life Skills Sub-Component Lead presented an overview of the project, highlighting activities implemented over the past year and reaffirming the project’s objective of amplifying the voices of adolescent girls. A video presentation showcased key activities and challenges, after which the Project Director provided updates on progress, risks, and identified gaps. The AGILE Project Coordinator commended the State Project Implementation Unit and implementing partners, while the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist presented field data, including enrollment figures, progress recorded, and success stories. Stakeholders emphasized the need for more specific data and improved documentation of gender-based violence cases. Representatives of school principals, School-Based Management Committees, and mentors shared feedback on positive changes observed among participating girls, as well as challenges and success stories from implementation. The session concluded with closing remarks from the Life Skills Sub-Component Lead.
