The Life Skills Sub-Component of the Kwara State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project begins its second year, expanding to 100 additional schools and equipping newly selected teachers to serve as mentors to adolescent girls across the state.

February 2026, marks an exciting milestone as we officially commence the second year of the Life Skills Sub-Component of the Kwara State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) in Kwara State.
Building on the success and impact recorded in our first year, the project is expanding its reach to an additional 100 schools across the state. This expansion reflects our deepened commitment to ensuring that more adolescent girls have access to the knowledge, support, and mentorship they need to thrive.
Earlier this year, a rigorous selection process was conducted to identify dedicated teachers who will champion this next phase of implementation. We are proud to welcome our successful candidates, who are now undergoing intensive training designed to prepare them for their new roles as mentors.
This week’s training focuses on equipping teachers with the tools and methodologies needed to effectively deliver Life Skills education. Through structured guidance, they will empower girls with critical competencies such as confidence-building, goal-setting, informed decision-making, and self-awareness — skills that are foundational for personal growth, academic success, and future leadership.
As we step into this second year, our commitment remains clear: to create safe, supportive learning environments where girls are equipped not just to succeed in school, but to navigate life with resilience and purpose.
We are proud of how far we have come — and even more inspired by the impact these new mentors will make in shaping brighter futures across Kwara State.
