Through strategic monitoring, Olive Community Development Initiative continues to ensure that safe spaces for adolescent girls remain supportive, impactful, and responsive to their needs.

Strengthening Safe Spaces for Adolescent Girls Across Kwara State
Over the month of July 2025, Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI), in collaboration with the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project team, conducted monitoring visits across 100 schools in Kwara State. During the visits, the team observed mentoring sessions, listened to the girls' experiences, and engaged with mentors to gain deeper insight into how the program is impacting lives at the grassroots level. Feedback meetings were also held with school principals to identify successes, challenges, and areas requiring additional support, reinforcing our belief that sustainable impact is built on collaboration and shared learning. To further support and encourage the girls, tote bags, factsheets, notebooks and pens were distributed across the schools. These visits served as a powerful reminder that investing in girls means investing in stronger communities and a brighter future. Our safe spaces are more than physical rooms, they are gateways to confidence, courage, and lasting change.
