Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI) is a non-governmental, non-religious, and non-political organization dedicated to empowering and sensitizing vulnerable women on issues that directly affect their lives and wellbeing. In commemoration of Mother’s Day, on May 17, 2018, OCDI officially launched the Olive Women Support Program (Olive-WSP). The initiative was introduced in response to the pressing needs and realities faced by many women within the community. The Olive-WSP was designed to provide structured support and empowerment opportunities for women, with a focus on strengthening their financial independence, social stability, and overall health. The program seeks to raise women who are confident, self-reliant, and equipped to thrive in their families and communities. As a pilot phase, the program began by attracting women from different backgrounds and social statuses within Asa Local Government Area. Through this initiative, OCDI reaffirmed its commitment to building stronger, healthier, and more economically empowered communities—one woman at a time.
