HIV/AIDS

The World AIDS Day 2025 program focused on raising awareness about HIV prevention, testing, and treatment while addressing stigma and misinformation. Through an HIV/AIDS awareness walk across Ilorin and a sensitization outreach at Kwara State Polytechnic, the initiative engaged community members and students with accurate information, encouraged open conversations, and provided free, confidential HIV testing to promote healthier and safer communities.

World Aids Day
Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI), in partnership with the Kwara State Ministry of Health, Kwara State AIDS Control Agency, Society for Family Health, and other partners, commemorated World AIDS Day 2025 through a community-based HIV/AIDS awareness program in Ilorin. The program, aligned with the theme “Overcoming Disruptions; Sustaining Nigeria’s HIV Response,” featured an awareness walk across the city and an interactive sensitization session at Kwara State Polytechnic. Community members and students were engaged with accurate information on HIV prevention, testing, and treatment, while free and confidential HIV testing services were provided to encourage informed health decisions and reduce stigma.
