Adolescent Health Outreach at Otte Primary Health Centre
In commemoration of International Adolescent Health Week, Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI), in collaboration with the Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, carried out an adolescent health outreach at Otte Primary Health Centre. The engagement focused on raising awareness about physical and mental health, addressing gender-based violence, and introducing basic financial literacy as a tool for adolescent wellbeing. During the session, eligible girls received the HPV vaccine to support cervical cancer prevention efforts. Routine health assessments, including weight and height measurements, were also conducted to encourage regular health monitoring among adolescents. The outreach fostered open dialogue, increased awareness, and strengthened the confidence of young girls to make informed decisions about their health and future, reinforcing OCDI’s commitment to holistic adolescent empowerment.
